Goa wins Santosh Trophy

The title clash for Santosh Trophy finals witnessed on June 14 is a very dull and drab foot ball. Both Bengal and Goa missed some opportunity to scare-Asian Football especially Indians lack speed, outsmarting dribbling past and finishing. Both teams run helter-skelter without clear aim. The match event for extra time also and at the end of goal-less draw. Then came the Tie-Breaker in the second half Bengal might have taken the lead had Surojit who got a pass from Lalwmpuiya and only goalkeeper to beat had completely messed up. In the tie-breaker Goa won 4-2.

Pakistan New T20 Champions

It was fine effort by Pakistan team to beat Srilanka in the T20 Championship finals on 21st June. That too rated as underdogs to win the trophy, they smoothly sailed into semifinals. In the super eight Pakistan beat Ireland and Newzealand but lost to Srilanka.

In the Semifinals again South Africa floundered against Pakistan. On the given day Pakistan played a better game. Pakistan's Afridi though quite efficient with his bowling but found lacking in his batting abilities. But when it mattered most he clicked with bat with a fine half centuary and took two wickets and final result being Pakistan beat South Africa by seven runs.

In the finals Srilanka batted first but able to score 138 only in the 20 overs. For Pakistan Abdul Razzaq took 3 important wickets. Razzaq was benefitted very well by lifting the ban on Cricketers who have played for ICL and he did justice to that. Shahid Afridi again blasting 39 balls 54 not out made him man of the match. With 8 balls to spare Pak. beat Srilanka to crown T20 World Cup. Kudos to the Pak. Team.
